I usually do not talk about former Congressman,Representative Tom Tancredo due to personal differences with him. I am a 2nd generation Asian American and would not be here if not for immigration. However, he crossed the line this time with statements that befit Nazi Germany, not my USA.

He began by talking about how the left wing is “destroying the constitution.” When the Left wing is in charge, the right wing would say this and when the right wing was in charge, they did the very same thing. It is the cycle of the wing-nuts, with the chairs of power changing the casts, but the soap opera remains the same.

Then he started talking about revolutions and how votes cast are not enough and he calls for other kind of commitment. Already here, there is some cause for concern. Votes are the ultimate form of democracy.

Wouldn’t there be crazy idiots out there that would think of guns and violent revolution? Well the answer to what form of commitment was as disturbing as that. He claimed that there should be “commitment to passing on our culture… it is based on Judeo-Christian principles whether they like it or they don’t! That is who we are! … And if you don’t like it, don’t come here!”

Firstly, our country is, was and should always be a secular country. This is the land that of freedom given to us by the constitution that you think others are trying to destroy, Representative Tancredo. This is the country that harbored people who were forced out of their lands because they had leaders that said, “ If you do not like our religion, then don’t stay here!” and not let them practice their religion as and how they desired.

There is no where in the constitution that states that Christianity is the religion of our great country. Our first amendment gave us the freedom of speech. That is something religion would never allow! Having tons of evidence to proof evolution and the fact that the Earth is 4 000 000 000 years old and not 6000; and yet the Christians, Jews and Muslims cannot tolerate that fact. Simple cartoons of a prophet or a movie questioning Christ’s bloodline, draws crazy protests.

Immigration is always something that made America great. There are several other countries around the world that can now say that they have an immigration policy like ours, but we started it! It is America and the American dream where you can come from anywhere, from anyhow and do anything, and as long as you are good at what you do, you would succeed.

Can we imagine the Amerindians telling us this, that we have got to live by their values or get out of their land? After all, people like Representative Tancredo always forget that this was their land before ours. I think that we should issue the same threat to him: Representative Tancredo, if you don not like our system and values, you get out!

What does Representative Tancredo think our country is, the Christian version of the Taliban or the Iranian regime? Does he not see that this is very much in line with Nazi hate speech of “Aryan land for Aryans”? Or is he simply just too blind with the hatred burning in him.

If he is so worried about Judeo-Christian values, why does he hate the very Catholic Hispanic immigrants of our country? They keep their Christian way of life. Or do you just hate them because they are brown and speak another language?

Lastly, he was speaking at a Tea Party convention. I have said it a long time ago (around September 12 2009), that there were elements of racism in those rallies; this is a very strong case. It is less an Independent movement of heroes like Governor Jesse Ventura or Ralph Nader takes part, and more of a Republican thing to protest everything about President Obama.
