Wrong politics on David Patterson

I do not like Governor David Patterson one bit. I think he is thoroughly unqualified to run the state. His record for that state is good enough. However, I think that picking on his disability is out right wrong and I am ashamed that this is happening in our America.

He is terrible, Governor Patterson. Say what you like about Governor Elliot Spitzer, he knew how to run a state. The only way Governor Patterson knows how to run a state is to run it to the ground! All the figures back that up. I hope, for New York state’s sake, he gets out as soon as possible!

However, that does not mean that we should be insulting the Governor because he is blind. It is one thing to make fun of the Governor, all comedians do that. We in ST too made fun of the President and the first yesterday in our article, and many have done so on President Bush’s term a year or so ago.

But scorning a blind person because he is blind? Come on! “(Governor Patterson)blind and can’t read Braille and doesn’t really know what’s going on” Rupert Murdoch. “He has people reading newspapers to him. He listens to tapes of staffers briefing him. All that takes an enormous amount of time” Democratic politician Diane Savino .

Basically, in the manner above, we have heard many people criticizing the Governor because he is blind. I think that this is very, very wrong. Would we criticize him for him being Black? No. Because we know that that is wrong. It is called racist. In the same way, we cannot insult him because he is blind. I think that utterly wrong.

Are we going to criticize a cripple because of his or her disability? How are we going to treat special people with Down’s syndrome as second class citizens? Then why are we treating the Governor in the same manner. Haven’t we forgotten that one of our best Presidents died a paralyzed man?

Again, I state that I do not like this guy. I think he is to New York State as what George W Bush was to the whole country : trouble! There is very little that he did right in his term so far. I agree with that.

In fact that made me more sad as I feel that he has enough faults already for the world to criticize. Enough! Why criticize his blindness? Why not criticize the manner he is running the state? Everything is worse since Governor “I like hookers but you can’t have them” Spitzer. Why not criticize his statements where he claimed that President Obama is racist and does not want to see a Black governor? This guy has a treasure trove of attacks.

It is amazing that this is still going on in our America. Is this the liberty for all mentioned in the Pledge of Allegiance that we took every morning in our schools? It really stabs the heart of what America stands for.

The right wing crazy position on 9/11 trials

Ever since the decision by the Attorney General Eric Holder to try 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Muhammad and four others in New York, the right wing exploded into a rage of frenzy. It is the craziest thing in the world for me and I want to see Khalid Sheikh Muhammad and company hung.

For one, I am delighted with the move by Eric Holder to finally get this done. I think that we should get back to American justice as fast as possible, rather than the world of enhanced interrogation techniques, aka torture. However, we must have the death sentence for these terrorists. We cannot allow them to have life sentences as that would risk terrorists holding up hostages in return for their release. Ask any Israeli and they would tell you that this is true.

That being said, I stress that it must, it must take place. I think it is absolutely crazy not to let it happen. What are we going to do: keep them in Guantanamo Bay forever? Does the far right really want to make that our concentration camp? Come on!

What are they afraid of : an acquittal? This is from former George W Bush’s Attorney General Mick Mukasey “The question with him (Khalid Sheikh Muhammad) was not about getting a confession, it was about getting intelligence.” They already had a confession! There is ample amount of proof that these terrorist murdered 3000 people. The chances of these guys not kissing the noose or staying in jail is as much as Adolf Hitler’s if he were alive to face the tribunals.

Are they afraid of a media circus? You know what, I want the world to see that America is back! That we can hang this piece of crap. If Khalid Sheikh Muhammad and others want to spew their bull-crap, we can get throw them out of their courts. The Conservatives fear that these people would be able to change their defense and that would increase the length of the trial. My question to them back is : How many murderers do we send to prison even though they have the very same rights? It does not make sense.

There are also many Conservatives who fear that this would mean that the President Bush’s policies would be put on trial. I am a person that clearly thinks that Enhanced Interrogation Techniques are an excuse for torture. However, the legal system would not be so stupid to confuse torture with this. The case is about the evidence, not some external issue.

They know these facts! They are just acting so scared. They are just being crazy and paranoid. There is absolutely nothing to be worried about! Nothing! I think that they know it and they are doing this just to gain attention. Just like how the liberals do to get our troops out of Afghanistan.

Lets be the bloodhounds that smell blood. Lets be equally interested in justice. Lets make sure that more than 3000 people not die in vain. Lets hang those basta**s.

ST : 2 out of 3; shock at NY 23; lessons learnt

2 of our 3 predictions came out true with NY 23 being a stunner. I really do not think anyone expected NY 23 to experience what I call a Ron Paul effect on Doug Hoffman. As for the other two, I think that there are some lessons to be learned.

First, lets talk look at the gubernatorial race in Virginia. I suspect that if it was a race between the incumbent Governor Tim Kaine and Governor-elect Bob McDonnell, the race would not have been such a blowout. This goes down to terrible political management a.k.a Democratic political management by Creigh Deeds.

We can go about all the twists and turns, but to win American elections, you got to do two things. One is that you got to keep your base and the other is to get the Independent vote. And in both fields, Creigh Deeds lost. He went far to the right of his usual positions, to the right of center. That alienated his left wing base. Also, Independents could see through his insincerity right away. This was really a no brainer.

Governor Corzine’s case is a bit different though. The reason he lost to Governor elect was because, to put it simply, he screwed up big time while he was supposed to do his job. While we know that Governor elect Christie has a checkered past, there is still a chance that he would not screw up like Governor Corzine did.

Secondly, as we stated yesterday, Independent candidate Chris Daggett, whom we endorsed, definitely stole more would take more votes from Governor Corzine than Governor elect Christie. Voters always value deeds over promises.

Lastly, I would like to talk about the shock effect in New York 23rd congressional district. Remember, this is a place that has never been Democratic in over a decade. And the manner that it has fallen is astonishing. While it is debatable that Daggett caused Governor Corzine a victory, there is no doubt that Diedre Scozzafava cost Doug Hoffman his seat. 5% of the voters wrote her name down!

I really do not think that she intentionally told her voters to write her name down when she has already withdrawn from the race. This is what I term as the Ron Paul effect, because there were so many people that put Representative Ron Paul’s name down even though he was out of contention in last year’s Presidential elections. While his votes were harmless last year, this cost Hoffman.

While I have mixed feelings about the “Ron Paul” effect, I am ecstatic with the result this time. It is really a slap to the nutty far right that tried to hijack this process. What would this do in the next yeat? Should polls be changed to include this effect? Should it even be allowed, since we already have Independents and Primaries?

I was really stunned by the treatment that the far right led by Governor Sarah Palin dished out on Scozzafava. I hope that this stops them in the tracks right now. They planned to go after 25 moderate Republican next, with people like Governor Charlie Christ and Senator Lindsey Graham.

So at the end of the day, it is not really a bad day for people who think like us. We stayed neutral in Virginia. We supported the Independent candidate in New Jersey, but we know that the system was against him. We got the race prediction for New York 23rd Congressional District wrong and we loved those results!

So not a bad day at all!

Terror Alert : ST Proven right!

What a stunner! Wasn’t it days ago that we mentioned the ridiculousness of having a gun on board trains? Just hours ago, an Afghan national is being suspected of plotting to bomb trains in Colorado and New York. But it was what we said about fighting terror that the Feds have repeated the alarm for.

Najibullah Zazi is being accused of plotting to bomb train stations in New York. According to the Feds, he had diagrams that show how to make bombs were found on the computer and he visited New York recently. They claim that this is the real deal.

I really do not think that the FBI would be so stupid to arrest Zazi based on this alone. E.g. if we go to the NRA website and visited New York, does that mean we are planning to commit mass murder? There must be something that they have yet to tell the media, or else they would be looking very stupid before the cameras. And I still trust the FBI.

Zazi’s lawyer too made a very good point. If Mr Zazi was the gentleman that is really being under investigation, wouldn’t he be locked up and not released? Why is he out free instead of being arrested? This just reiterates the point I made before that there is something that the FBI knows that we do not or else this would make them look really stupid.

But what is important was what we mentioned in our articles a days ago. The way to stop terror on trains is the following 3 steps :

1)Good intelligence: Should the FBI be right here, this entire plot would have been averted with good intelligence work. Should they be right, and I believe that they are, the FBIs would be the real heroes here.

2)Screening: Weapons, ammunitions and ordinance should not be tolerated in trains. I really doubt that there would be any way of stopping Zazi today should he have not been caught by the FBI and had the desire to bomb Amtrak. We need screening in train stations. We need them fast, or lives can be lost.

3)Training. I have said before that President Obama’s administration was right in trying to dumping what I called the “train squad.” This is because, I really doubt Close Quarters Battle or Urban Ops is the way to prevent someone from bombing trains. What is needed is that every rail employee be trained to be vigilant to detect give away signs of terrorism.

Should this be the real deal, I hope Americans do not start to fear again. I hope that they have faith in the Feds instead. Because if we let ourselves be scared because of this kind of threats the terrorists would have already won. Remember they are terror-ists, they want you to be scared.

That being said, I do not think that we as Americans should be complacent either. We should know that the moment we let our guard down, the terrorists would be coming for us. We should not complain either when there is checking of our bags and backpacks. I would not mind longer lines rather than people dying.

Lastly, we here at ST would like to thank the FBI, regardless of this threat being real, for helping keep out country safe. They are the real unsung heroes in America. Thank you guys, we appreciate it!

Dear Levi,

Ever since you made Bristol Palin pregnant, you has been hogging or trying to hog the headlines. But now, with Governor Sarah Palin has announced her planned resignation, it is time for you to shut up! MTV and Cartoon Network are your channels, leave the CSPAN stuff to people like us.

I have made it no secret that I am not a fan of Governor Palin. I think that she is absolutely the wrong person to lead America.

“Many states in America are running a deficit. Two shining examples of those that are not are Virginia and Texas who are coughing out surpluses for the next two years. Texas might not have the brilliant planning system like Virginia(due to the excellent foundation work done by Senator Mark Warner when he was a Governor), as the number of bankrupt Texan cities suggest.

But they have resources and know how to use it. That is easier said than done especially with such a huge population like Texas. Many other Southern states have lesser resources and population, but they are barely breaking even or are recording some losses.

Alaska on the other hand has so much more natural resources than Texas and a much lesser population and yet is not breaking even. This shows weak leadership on the part of Governor Palin. She has made decisions, such as carrying on giving Alaskans $1000 a year, that has led to this. Alaska should not be bleeding. Alaska does not have huge economies like Florida, New York and California. Alaska has abundant natural resources (oil) and yet Alaska is bleeding.”

The last three paragraphs, Levi, is how you make a case against Governor Palin. Use facts. Do not make judgments based on personality and as Governor Palin would put it, bull crap. Stop this nonsensical statements that you are making. I get the fact that you are popular and some girls adore you. But politics is not your field, son.

I hear you are an aspiring actor and model that is trying to make a name for yourself in Hollywood. That is good. You can be the next Spencer Pratt and can go complain your hearts out in an NBC program that you have entered. Go for hot women and hot cars. Put your hands in that cookie jar, and not interfere with ours.

It is not that we are jealous whenever you go about saying things like, “(Governor) Palin lost my vote” or when you say “She is quitting for the money”. We get upset when we read your news because of 2 things. Firstly, we want to listen to real news, not a person trying to stay in the spotlight bashing (site administrator does not let me use another b word) the woman whose daughter he knocked up.

More importantly, by you bashing Governor Palin, you are inevitable making her more popular. We do not want her near the Presidency. Some liberals, with their stupidity working overdrive, have already written her off. They are not helping either. You are drawing a lot of sympathy from mums of teens-with-kids. Neither is your crudeness and your lack of political knowledge going to keep a lid of Governor Palin’s political career.

I wish you all the best in your modeling career and hope you can endorse some condoms in the future and But please, shut up with dissing Governor Palin already!

Yours,
Slashing Tongue
