Fear is mongered because of” Machete”

Well what is “Machete”? Literally it is a weapon, sort of like a knife. But the Machete is I am talking about is a movie. Yes, the name of the movie is “Machete” is directed by Robert Rodriquez and is coming out in September 3. The movie is claimed by many to be a B-grade film with A-list star or it is an A-grade film. It`s cast consists of Danny Trego, Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriquez, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson and Steven Seagal. Quite a cast isn`t it, just like the movie” The expendables”.

But was it I wanted to talk about the movie? Well let`s put it this way there are some people like “Alex Jones” are saying that the movie will make Latinos and Mexicans to start killing people in Arizona. As most of you might know about Arizona`s new set of laws regarding illegal aliens created quite a stir in the region. The movie`s trailer which you can find in YouTube seems to hint about Arizona`s new laws.

That`s about it, the movie trailer is believed by conspiracy theorist to stir an ethnic across America. When I first saw and heard about this I literally laughed. You do not really need a movie to start such events. A movie is just a movie unless it is classified as a documentary. I can understand that there are simple minded people who will take it seriously but the point is simple we should not bloat it up and make it look like a serious issue.

The thing is even before movies were made, there were bloodshed and genocide. They did not need a movie for that to happen. It is the ideology that is being passed on by people that have no social responsibility that cause a many unnecessary problems in the world today. The movie hasn`t even been released yet and yet there are a ton of speculations. What happened to the saying “Don`t judge a book by its cover”. Of course for a movie it is “Don’t judge a movie by its trailer”. The movie only hinted Arizona only to get attention but nevertheless the mockery and the theories have begun.

Do you think it is viable for such speculations to start something chaotic?

Racism should be punished!

Racism is something that should not be tolerated anywhere at all. The world has already learned lessons from the past. We have seen the worst in Nazi Germany or the Hutu-Tutsi rivalry. Racism also hinders progress.

It is also something that immigrant to a country suffer all over the world. Many Malaysians are not very fond of Indonesian immigrants, many Russians do not like Central Asian immigrants. Please not that I said many, not most. Majority of people in the world are oblivious or okay with immigrants.

Like the countries mentioned above, the United States also have some issues with immigrants from Mexico. Many of these immigrants are illegal. Due to poverty, many of them are involved in crime. So it is understandable for many Americans to be unhappy with them, just like citizens of other countries do not like their immigrants, so does America.

But what scares me is that in America, they are blaming everything on illegal immigrants. When a person gets knocked down by a drunk driver that is an illegal immigrant, there are people that blame illegal immigration rather than drunk driving. That is wrong.

It is the same thing with the current issue when it comes to swine flu. Mexicans do not want to have swine flu themselves. I really do not see that Mexicans are doing this willingly. Secondly majority of the diseases that come into the US comes from people that flew from Mexico after a holiday, not from crossing the border.

Do I think that the US government should go after illegal immigration? Yes? Do I think that they should have a proper border with Mexico? Yes, I think they should have one with Canada too! Terrorists can come from both sides.

But that does not mean that people should be racist with the Mexicans at all. The incident that I am going after is Jay Severin. The first racist jibe: He called Mexicans the lowest of primitives in the world. That is something that is so wrong. Try calling a Black person that and you would see Al Sharpton coming after you.

Shortly later, Mr Severin said that the biggest export of Mexico to America was: Venerable disease. Seriously, you are going to blame sexually transmitted diseases on Mexicans? Where is your proof? Because a certain percentage of the population gets it from Mexican prostitutes , or in the way he put it women with mustaches?

The next punch he said Mexicans are a bunch of leeches to America? Are you serious? Are you trying to tell me that Mexican Americans do not do anything for America? From cleaning your streets to being your bosses, Hispanic Americans are everywhere! Are they all ruining your life Jay? They have become your governors, senators and representatives. And I predict that one day you would have a Hispanic American President one day.

Last jab, he called all Mexican immigrants criminalierns, an obvious like to the word criminal and aliens. He did not say illegal immigrants from Mexico; he said criminaliens. As a minority myself, I find this utterly disrespectful and disgusting.

I am not going to be soft: I want him fired! This guy is a racist through and through. If he can do it to Mexicans today, he can do it to the Blacks and Jews the next day. I am not against free speech, but I am against hateful ones. If you can get sued for slandering a person, you should be able to lose your job for defaming a race.

This speech reminds me of the Hutu radio in Rwanda that was spreading false information. The different : One calls them the lowest form of primitives on earth that carry STDs while the other said cockroaches that carry death. Keeping this guy longer and you would risk the same out come as Rwanda did in the 90s.
