You guys might have heard of about the recent recall of jewelry made from china because of higher levels of cadmium were present. The most recent recall was for MacDonald`s “Shrek” cups. About 13.4 million “Shrek” themed cups have been recalled in the U.S. alone. Apparantly, MacDonald`s will give a refund for the cups if you choose to return them. They were quick about it as well before anyone could file a lawsuit against them. In other words, they have only tried to control collateral damages. The glasses contained unsafe levels of cadmium. After this incident you might think that the glasses were made in China. Well it isn`t, the glasses were made in New Jersey but the paint that was used for the glasses came from China. China has replaced lead with cadmium. Cadmium are used in paints for painting gas pipes and are used widely in batteries.

Why is China doing this? A lot of products come from China for one reason only, they are cheap. Not necessarily cheap for the U.S. consumer but for definitely for the businesses and retailers. Some of you may think about why such things are not moderated strictly. Why not boycott Chinese products? Well let`s say the worse President in the history of the United States has made it so. The major issue is businesses small or big ones and the government is supporting China. China has literally had a very strong economic growth till employers started to outgrow employees. Of course, the employers are from companies that in the production line. Look at “Apple”; ever since the company released “Ipad” they had more and more orders. Who manufacture these “Ipad”? A company called Foxconn. Recently, the company has been in the spotlight for exploiting its workers and having unsafe conditions. Steve Jobs from “Apple” supports Foxconn. Ipad is made in China and look at its cost in the U.S.; The Chinese as usual made similar product called “Iped”. The “Iped” can run “Ipad” applications as well as “Google android”.

Fact is the U.S. government is helping China too much. U.S. may be in debt that does not mean the American people must die for the government`s stupid mistakes. Majority of China`s products being sold around the world have heavy metals like cadmium, lead, beryllium or mercury. These heavy metals can cause terrible aliments like crippling (Nerve synapse failure), brain related problems or even hair loss. Imagine these metals in the products meant for kids. That is very disturbing. If you look into these carefully, it is not really China`s fault for adding such metals and exploiting human beings. Remember the time when Trans fat was damn popular. Almost any food that you can grab and eat would have Trans fat in it. These days’ people are well aware of it and try to stay away from it.

The urge to make more and more money by greedy corporations have resulted in the creation of such unethical techniques to artificial enhance food products or make nearly any product cheaper. As long it reduces their cost overhead and brings in huge profits, it will be advertised and well marketed so that innocent people who work hard and earn their money end up losing their wealth and health at the same time. Since the late 70`s companies have spend huge amounts on researching and developing man made additives that will reduce the cost for prepared foods. Look at the new product called “hFcorn syrup” that they claim to be same as regular sugar. It is just a lie created so that people will buy and the sellers` will profit from it with a low overhead cost. There also many workers who work in such industries who have been exploited and also got sick from being exposed to hazardous chemicals and materials gradually.

Who can stop such atrocities? Don`t bother looking at the government or the corporations. Look in the mirror, only you the buyers who spend the money and accept the products can stop this from happening. If people do not act now than the future of our children is going to be in question. People need to know what they put into their mouth. The key to understanding and knowing what to do is to research and gain the knowledge. Remember corporations and politicians may make key decisions but “NOTHING IS ABOVE HUMANITY”.

10)Health care bill to be passed in a responsible manner. Health care is one of the most important things affecting America. We cannot have a Republican attitude of ignoring this threat, nor can we have the Democrats manner of just getting a bill passed.

9)Terror to me quashed. The recent terrorist miss by the Nigerian tells us that the threat is still there. We must take it by the horns. We must succeed in Afghanistan. Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Eritrea and especially Pakistan too are other high risk areas to watch out for.

8)Financial reforms to be passed. We experienced a 2009 of recovery. But we must learn from our mistakes or we would have a lot more 2008 than we have to. Lets regulate Credit Default Swaps, short selling and other forms of derivatives. If these do not go unchecked, we can expect to pay a price.

7)Banking reform to be passed. Banking, together with the housing sector was what ultimately crumbled the economy. Casino banking should only happen with the banks’ own money! We cannot allow banks to gamble around with our savings to the point the government have to bail them out to secure our money!

6)Lets get immigration reform. For God’s sake, lets have fortifications along our both our borders! What are we, sub Saharan Africa where we have no money to build a proper fence or a wall? Common! Also lets just throw the illegal immigrants back to Mexico, rather than paying for them to be in jail.

5)Look after our environment! There are many IDIOTS out there that doubt global warming just like they doubt that the Earth is billions of years old and not thousands. Just because we are experiencing a cold snap right now, it does not mean that the temperature is not rising. That does not mean that we should tax on Carbon; we need regulations. We need the trees back and we need regulations that would make emissions lower rather than taxing that.

4)UNITED states of America; not Conservatistan or Liberaland. Please, lets have the Governor Jesse Ventura spirit amongst us. Lets not give a crap about unions or small government. Lets just do what is right!

3)Control our debt!!!! We are having a $11 trillion national debt, a vast majority of it which we accumulated in the last 30 years. We need to get it done. Lets spend where we need to and cut it in cases where we do not. Let the Bush tax cuts expire please, for the sake of our future generations.

2)Lets start manufacturing again. We need to start making things again in America. Else we are going to have a turbulent, jobless future. Lets start with green jobs please! That is the kind of job that would never leave!

1)America resurges again! I am sick and tired of people saying China and India are surging and future big shots. Do you know what? We put them there! I challenge America right now, that we would be the economy that the world turns to.

They always say “We have got to put off illegal immigration as we have got to take care of the issue of health-care first.” “ The economy is the most important and we should discuss the ACES bill at a later time.” But do you know what kind of bill is now the hot topic in Congress…?

Un-freaking-believable! We are wasting time in the Congress talking about making TV ads lower in volume. Yes I am that serious. A Californian Representative, Representative Anna Eshoo, thinks it is too annoying, and something needs to be done about it. Guess this is Representative Eshoo’s idea of Christmas gift!

What the hell (I wanted to use another four letter word)! What are we going to talk about next? Regulating the army against the oompa-loompa invasion in the future? Must we regulate bicycles just in case ET needs to use one of them to fly?

On the topic of annoyance, can we regulate about babies crying on planes? Can we please stop having movies with blue people; where is the creativity man; Smurfs, X-men, Avatar? Can we ban the swinging gate maneuver that the Redskins played against the Giants?

This is utterly ridiculous! Seriously, worried about ads? Is this of the utmost emergency? Can we knock some Governor Jesse Ventura sense into Congress. We cannot get any health care work done, but we can spend hours about this bull crap! Are we electing idiots?

Whenever a bill comes about; these politicians whine about not given enough time to read bills in time to vote when we do the same thing and comment about it, we should remind them about this rubbish!

The healthcare debate should have been over months ago. It should have been wrapped up in three months. We should have solved the issues concerning illegal immigration, the ACES bill and an education reform bill by now.

But no! Rather than having the efficiency of the military, we are having theatrics of a soap opera instead. It is fun to watch, but very painful to realize that this is the body that is running our country! Why, why is this happening only in our America? I think the answer to that question would be the savior of our future generations.

The political threat to our country is very real. It seems to be heading to a political implosion. On the one hand there are the Republicans who is being taken over by the nutty right wing led by crazy woman from Alaska, and the Democrats that are so pathetic and politically dumb led by weakness and chief, President Obama.

Enough is enough! We have get down and get issues straight and start solving them. Please knock some sense into your member of Congress!

WASHINGTON – Taking an important step on the thorny path to closing the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the White House plans to announce Tuesday that the government will acquire an underutilized state prison in rural Illinois to be the new home for a limited number of terrorist suspects held at Guantanamo.
Administration officials as well as Illinois Sen. Richard Durbin and Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn will make an official announcement at the White House.
Officials from both the White House and Durbin’s office confirmed that President Barack Obama had directed the government to acquire Thomson Correctional Center in Thomson, Ill., a sleepy town near the Mississippi River about 150 miles from Chicago. A Durbin aide said the facility would house federal inmates and no more than 100 detainees from Guantanamo Bay.
The facility in Thomson had emerged as a clear front-runner after Illinois officials, led by Durbin, enthusiastically embraced the idea of turning a near-dormant prison over to federal officials.
The Thomson Correctional Center was one of several potential sites evaluated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons to potentially house detainees from the Navy-run prison at Guantanamo Bay. The Thomson Correctional Center was built by Illinois in 2001 as a state prison with the potential to house maximum security inmates. Local officials hoped it would improve the local economy, providing jobs to a hard-hit community. State budget problems, however, have kept the 1,600-cell prison from ever fully opening. Obama has faced some resistance to the idea of housing terrorism suspects in the United States, but in Thomson many have welcomed the prospect as a potential economic engine. Thomson Village President Jerry Hebeler, was asleep when the word came that Thomson had been chosen.
Some Illinois officials have not supported the idea. Kirk has lobbied other officials to contact the White House in opposition to using the facility.

President Obama intends to recycle the TARP profits to convert the savings into “tax-cuts” for small businesses and other infrastructure projects. The tax cuts would be a disastrous mistake and it would be something that would be just adding to the debt that we have.

Let me make this clear, these kind tax cuts would not mean anything to the middle class or the small businesses. I am not saying that I would not appreciate a tax cut, but the fact is, we got so many things to pay for that we do not feel the tax cuts effect at all. It is not like the millions that we would save if we were rich.

To prove my controversial statements above, I would like to point you guys to one example. As part of the Economic Recovery Act, the stimulus package, more than $250 billion dollars was set aside for tax cuts for the lower and upper middle class. How many of the recipients do you think would experience a reprieve or appreciated tax cut? Even today, many years after President Clinton cut taxes for the lower income bracket, people are still asking : Where was my tax cut, President Clinton?

The tax cut does not seem real at all. But what would be real is the debt it brings along with it. Should President Obama carry out his plan to convert the TARP funds to tax cuts, we would see the President cut half a trillion dollars worth of taxes. This half a trillion dollars spent, I am sorry to say, is just a waste of money.

The $200 billion could have been used to pay off the debt; we need to do that. That could have brought the deficit for this year down from $1.4 trillion to $1.2 trillion. It could have meant billions of dollars worth of interest being saved.

Many would bring us back to President’s Reagan presidency to claim that tax cuts would work, less would associate themselves with President Bush’s policies. Yes it worked, at a cost of a trillion 1980 US$! That is when the problem of debt really started in America.

If there is a further need to stimulate the economy, the many can be used in better ways. The money can be invested in infrastructure. This can be used to ensure that all our buildings and bridges are save. Lets build levies all around flood prone areas.

We can invest the money in education. Our kids are falling behind the rest of the world. While there would be people out there that blame the government, I disagree. The countries that have excellent results as of late are China, Hong Kong, Japan,Singapore and South Korea. The governments of these countries are very involved with their systems, so should we. We should meritocratize our system.

We can use the money to develop green energy. It can be seed money to help new green businesses start up. I am sure many would be interested in starting up a green business today especially with the ridiculously rebates that the government is offering in the ACES bill. This would make us very much less dependent on foreign oil.

Use it for these stuff, but please do not use it on tax cuts. It is not beneficial at all. It would just increase the debt! My preference is to use it to lower the debt that we owe China…
