Biden vs Cheney again…

When it comes to national security, nothing is as good as to see the current Vice President taking on the former. Both have taken radical paths and shape our country in their reign of “power”, (they should not be having any power according to our constitution other than to break a tie in the Senate).

I am going to be unabashed and state that I am never in the same boat with VP Cheney when it comes to this. To me, he is an absolute failure when it comes to national security. Whilst, it could be President Bush that should ultimately get most of the blame, it is VP Cheney that still is backing the disastrous policies of the last administration and many would still claim that a lot of those orders would go all the way up to VP Dick Cheney.

The rot of our national Security seems to come from the fact that our Vice President never seems to know what military protocols are. He has got no idea at all and it is he that is having a “tenuous relationship with reality”.

For example, he thinks that the only way we can get intelligence out of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay is by torture, or his excuse of a term, Enhanced Interrogation Techniques. It is from this that “intelligence” was gained that led to the Iraq war where thousands of our troops died. So doesn’t that prove that that those techniques do not work?

He often claims that President Obama is taking away methods to interrogate terrorists in a ticking time bomb situation. Well, had he had served the army instead of chickening out, he would have known what the rules of Engagement are. If there is any justified perception of hostility, action can be taken. So he is wrong again on that.

Even if he thinks that perverse logic is true, why need to hold them for so many years. Why not execute them for their crimes already? Why is it that we are paying Al Qaeda personnel to be given food for so many years? Does he not know that by keeping them in for so long risks hostage situations in the future demanding their releases? (E.g. Recently, Israel released hundreds of prisoners in return for mere proof that one of their soldier is alive).

Now coming to VP Bide. Should he have said that another 9/11 would not be likely? He better do! We never want to hear that another 9/11 is inevitable! However, more important is his actions rather than his words. We had a Christmas miracle with the “underwear bomber”. That is the most that we should tolerate.

Lastly, I am very pleased that the current administration is going after Al Qaeda and is having some good results. But at the end of the day, America wants Osama bin Laden’s head. With his head, we can have the symbolic victory that the world is looking for. So until then, we are not there yet…

ACLU Drone stand : Crap!

ACLU is a far let liberal group reminds me of PETA. They are more there for the controversy rather than the cause. E.g. While I am all for ending torture, I would not be going about in the maniacal manner that ACLU used, I would have rather used sense that President Obama and Senator McCain took.

But this is queer and weird cause for an organization like ACLU to take up. Ending drone strikes against terrorists? Come on! Who in the world would really be angry about this. After President Obama intensified the drone attacks in Pakistan and other places that are harboring terrorists, we have killed scores of them. This really tightens the noose around Osama bin Laden’s neck.

So why in the world would ACLU want to stop a successful program such as this? Well, they are demanding some top Secret facts under the freedom of Information act. They basically want to know some things that are not known now.

My question is why? You know that when drone attacks happen, militants die. If they missed, civilians die and our military would have to do some explanation which they do. The results are there to see. We are also aiding the countries that harbor them as they too are at war with Al Qaeda, particularly Pakistan and Yemen. Everybody wins if there is little collateral damage.

Honestly, who in the world should be against this? Again, I stress, if there is collateral damage, someone has to take the blame for it. Else, this is a cheaper and safer method of conducting a war. There would not be boots on the ground with this. We kill without being killed. Why are they getting involved in this matter.

I think that this is all a manner for the ACLU to draw in some airtime on television. They are willing to play with the lives of innocent citizens so that they can get their political agenda out there and the public not forget them. They are extremely divisive and are just crap.

It is not that I am against everything that they stand for. I am not. I think gay marriage should be legal. I think that terrorists should stand trial and be executed. But when they do nonsensical gimmicks like trying to stop people protesting against illegal immigration, they pist me off. No matter where we are on issues, people should have the freedom of expression. And aren’t you about American CIVIL LIBERTIES?

Lastly, if with a lawsuit they can get any classified information they want, there must be something very wrong with our justice system then! Having lawsuits that challenges wiretapping is one thing. But challenging other forms of military program. What is the ACLU going to do next? Suit me and question how I am running my business? Come on!

ACLU is one of the best examples of a wing-nut organization that is tearing our country apart. It takes two hand to create the clap of disaster, and ACLU is part of the left hand. They are a bane to American politics…

There is a repeated line out in the web from people who are against bringing the 9/11 terrorists to trial in New York. The stand that they tend to take is that since the terrorists were caught in Pakistan, they should be tried over in Pakistan rather than in the United States of America.

Look, there would be a lot of nuts that would just oppose this measure since President Obama Obama suggested it. These are the far right. The far left would simply go ga-ga over this rule and would like it the same manner that the far right hates it. To these people, these article is not for you! This is for the saner readers.

That being said, I think it is very ridiculous that these people think like that! Come on! Where in the world have they been living? Crime is always punished at the state/country it happened. It is something that happens all over the world.

For example, if someone murders someone in Washington but was caught across the border at British Columbia, Canada, something that happens once in a while, the Canadians do not hear his/ her trial in Canada. They would extradite that person to Washington and then, criminal proceedings would begin. This also happens state to state within our nation unless, it falls under the jurisdiction of the FBI (bank robbery, crimes in multiple states, or across state lines etc) . It rightfully happens all the time!

Yes some of you would point out that Pakistan has also have suffered atrocities at the hands of Al Qaeda. However, no ne at that time, suffered a higher casualty than America did on 9/11. We lost about 3000 lives that day, something that all other countries have not suffered.

E.g. If a person killed 10 people in Washington and was caught in British Columbia where he committed robbery, the Canadians would usually extradite that person to the Washington. The only exceptions would be if they have got some issues with our laws, or some extreme cases where Canada is affected. The Pakistanis have got no excuses here.

Some people mention about how the Japanese were tried in Japan in World War two and not in the United States where they destroyed Pearl Harbor. The difference in that situation and this is, that that was a war! This is not a war. President Bush’s “war on terror” slogan is no longer used. It is now global contingency operations. It is not one state attacking another, it is criminals against the state.

I would also like to reiterate the need to try these people on our land. It would be the justice that we deserved. The Iraqis saw Saddam Hussein being hung. I think America should have her day and see that Khalid Sheik Muhammad and company be hung too. That would be justice!

I also would like to stress that there should not be the “abolishment” of the death penalty in this case. Keeping prisoners forever would only lead to future hijackings or kidnappings where the release of these prisoners would be sought as ransom. It is something that has been used by the militants before, and would be used again in the future.

We in ST would also like to remind readers that tomorrow is the anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

Clarification needed about “deadline”

President Obama is going to send 30 000 more troops to Afghanistan. This is something that I support and have long stated so. However, the part about the deadline is something that confuses me. Is it the goal of the President to exit in 18 months like we did in the surge, or are we going to have to close shop within 18 months?
This is something that is rather complicating as the two scenarios have such different outcomes despite appearing to be similar. If we are going to get the hell out in 18 month regardless of the situation on the ground in Afghanistan, we are in trouble.

The President is going to allow, in his words, “ an unacceptable risk”, to be potentially around in 18 months. That would render all the blood and sacrifice of our troops in the next 18 months as fruitless. If he does that, he is failing America in a very fundamental way.

If this is the case, there is really no hope of extending the stay beyond 2012. If the troops are to draw down by July 2011; it would take 6-10 months for all of them to come home. The added incentive would be that President Obama would be viewed as the person who have brought back all the troops home, something that would go down well with his far left base.

On the other hand, if the President hopes to achieve all goals in 18 months, then that would be a good thing. We would only leave when our objectives in Afghanistan are met. That is a world away from leaving Afghanistan at a certain date by any means necessary.

As Iraq has shown us, it is very possible that we can meet our objectives in 18 months. If we could do it in Iraq, we can do it Afghanistan. This would be something very positive and something that I would support. I also like the idea of a very speedy troop surge. That is something that would be a logistical headache to the Officers and the NCOs, but I think it would boost the troop morale on the ground.

Now I do not know which one of those scenarios is right. The Republicans are claiming that the first scenario is right, while the Democrats are claiming that the second is. The President, in his speech yesterday, went both ways. Is he undecided? I wonder…

There is also the thing about the price of the war. The President has always promised that he would do everything in a deficit neutral manner. So how is he goi9ng to pay for the at least $30 billion that this war would cost? Is he going to go down the path of President Bush and leave the next generation with a $1 trillion dollar war burden? I hope he takes Governor Jesse Ventura idea seriously about a war tax.

I would also want to see do NATO her fair share of work. It is not only the United States that has suffered attacks that were being carried out by Al Qaeda which is supported by the Taliban in Afghanistan. I want to see that they contribute their very small share of 5000 men. I also hope that they go in with the desire to fight and not just be peace keepers, like they have done so many times.

Leave Huckabee alone!

What in the blue hell is wrong with America? We have four of the nation’s police officers shot down in cold blood by a mentally sick man who thinks he is Jesus and that he was fighting a holy war; and we have the Democrats attacking Governor Mike Huckabee for commuting his sentence.

Come on! When is the political bickering going to end? When all the Republicans shoot the Democrats or vice versa? OR should the Independents start a missionary like movement to convert Republicans and Democrats to what they are supposed to be : American!

Firstly, if former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee really did commit the mistake of signing this person’s release, is it really a crime? Is he really the person to blame for the death of the police officers? No! Before a commutation, there are a lot of levels of recommendations. They always say that it is a (female dog) to get a parole from the parole board. At worst, it is just a mistake.

However, I do not think he made the mistake at all! I think that Governor Huckabee is right that this guy should not be in jail; he should be in a freaking mental institution. Look at his record. He thinks he can freaking fly!. He thinks that he is Jesus. He told his relatives that it is a must to be naked for five minutes on Sunday! How much more evidence do people need that this man is insane.

I also would like to an example out of this incident to be made out for the families. His family knew that he is insane. They knew that he had a criminal past. Why didn’t they call in help before. I think they are more at fault for the death of the four brave police officers than Governor Mike Huckabee ever was!

We need to let people get the message that if you think that your peer or family member is crazy, it is better to make a false report than to let a mental person be without help. Had that have happened, neither this incident, nor the Fort Hood massacare would have taken place.

Judging by the reactions on the Internet, I think that those African Americans that are speaking anything but horror about this incidents, should be ashamed of themselves. Being Asian American, I know how it feel when it comes to racism. Are police apprehensive when it comes to Black people, yes.

But this is a tragedy, anyway we see it. This is not a payback for any policy of the Police. The main objective of the Police is not to harm and target, it is to serve and to protect. The Police is not the Al Qaeda, that is out to kill Americans.

When is it that we are going to be sane and look at a problem with sense in America? This is another great example. Rather than talking about gun control and mental health issues we are arguing about whether Governor Mike Huckabee is guilty and whether the police department deserves it! We need to get these people in check!

Lastly, can anybody tell me why is it that the Police are holding up the siege of this person in the house? Aren’t they supposed to be better in Urban Operations as compared to the soldiers? Can’t they gas him out or something like that? This is not a suggestion, I really would want to know from the public why the police is taking their time to get this murderous insane human being.

We at Slasing Tongue would like to send our condolences to the families of the victims and their brother officers. ST would also like to salute Sgt. Mark Renninger; Officer Ronald Owens; Officer Tina Griswold; and Officer Greg Richards, 42 for serving our country.
