Freedom of speech is something that America gave the world. Without it, there would not be the greatest country on Earth today. However, I think that there has to be a line drawn at the level of threat. I do not think that anyone has a right to threaten the life of anybody, especially the President.

It is Okay to have signs that say “Down with Obama” or even to the extent of burning his picture with horse poop. But when you go out and make the threat that “next time, we will bring our guns” or similar ones, one going as far as saying “Kill Osama and Obama”.

I never believed any articles, like the LA times one, that said that the hatred was a matter of race. However, I strongly now believe that there is at least some truth in it. There were signs showing that President Obama is the President of Kenya becoming an illegal immigrant in America. There were at least 2 signs that went “n___ go back to Africa”There were so many White America signs that it was unbelievable. To be fair though, the “racist signs” only made up about 5% of all the signs out there.

I think that the alarm bells of the Secret Service should be ringing. While there were always the left wing crazies under President Bush, I did not see any one of them coming in AK47s and threatening action. I did not see anyone quoting domestic terrorist’s favorite Jefferson line “ The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Neither was there anyone demanding a coup-d’etat (Honduras did it, so should we). Neither was there any crazy pastor that went around saying that should President Obama be killed, it would not be murder.

This is getting way too serious. I think that the President and the public has to step in. Many of these people cannot make up their mind if President Obama is Islamic Fundamentalist, Marxist or Fascist. But he sure is the enemy of the state for them. You see signs with a bullet hole in the President Obama’s read and blood flowing down his face. This is going way too far. I think it is high time to arrest Pastor Anderson. I think that there should be a clampdown of some sort.

I do get the counter argument. Where is the line going to be drawn? Who can determine what can be said and what cannot be said. If I say today that we cannot say this and that, would someone come after me tomorrow for my regular mocking ex Governor Sarah Palin and Representative Barney Frank,

But the buck has got to stop. Else real blood would flow. All you need is the correct spark and there would be riots. I guarantee it. That is why it is essential to do clamp this down now. That being said, I think that it would be a political tight rope for the President to make. Be too soft, and the protesters would be emboldened. Do it too harshly and there would be a backlash amongst moderates.

I also think that there is a very strong tie back to Glenn Beck. There were no signs of FOX News, Sean Hannity, Michele Malkin or even Rush Limbaugh. But there were chants for Glenn Beck all the way. A lot of opinions of the audience were formed by listening to and watching Glenn Beck. There are rumors that this is all linked the the 9/12 project of Glenn Beck, but I do not think that even he would make any move as stupid as this.

I really hope that this is all hot air, but I really am not that foolish. The anger of just a few is there enough to explode this situation. I really hope for peace and calm, and do what we do. Debate. Slash with the tongue, never with your knives.
