Moore vs Hannity
You guys know how I feel about the right and the left in our country. And not many can be more wing-nuts like Michael Moore and Sean Hannity. Boy couldn’t you tell the awkwardness when both of them were on the air. The interview basically went as follows!
First, it was something about a stupid bet. It shows the lack of intellect in the part of Moore and perhaps why the Democrats are usual losers! He actually made a bet with Sean Hannity that former President Bush would be forced out of office! Hey Michael, you need a spine for that and the Democrats do not have any!
Next came some religious mambo-jambo, you know the “I am more Christian than you” kind of talk. Sean Hannity then went to the most obvious flaw that Michael Moore have in his rage with capitalism; he made millions because of it! He even had the cheek to claim that he could trash the system in Cuba and Fidel Castro would do nothing! What a joke! The hypocrisy was obvious! 2-0 to Hannity.
Sean Hannity then claims that it was right for the US to attack Iraq and the Israelis and other intelligence services were showing proof of WMDs. Hey Sean, do you think the Israelis would have sat down and have done nothing if Saddam had nukes? 6 million Jews died in world war 2, you think they would make the same mistake with allowing Saddam nukes? No way. Hannity was dead wrong.
He went back putting the blame on President Clinton, and tried to say that it was not President Bush’s fault. We in Slashing Tongue mentioned in our 9/11 episode that both these Presidents along with President Carter and President Reagan were at fault too. 2-1 TO Hannity.
And Sean Hannity also went down the path of stupidity that he thinks that there are millions of people that want to attack America due to religious fanaticism. Wow!Again stocking the flames of hatred. Yes, the Middle East is screwed up, yes. But does that mean that there are literally millions of people out there to destroy America? No! Come on! 2-2 tie.
The next topic was about whether home owners were responsible for the collapse on the financial system. On this, Michael Moore is right. They had very little to do with the collapse. It was the system. It was when bonds were pressured to be rated AAA so easily and other ridiculous laws. It was not the Community Investment Act at all. Other countries have similar bills, why didn’t their housing sector go bust? 3-2 to Michael Moore.
Micheal Moore secured his “win” in the closing minutes when he said that we do not make things anymore and Sean Hannity disagrees. Every economists agree that the biggest problem with the American economy is that we do not manufacture enough here! That is a fact. Be it Peter Schiff or Paul Krugman, economists want America to start making things again. How? That is what make them right wing or left wing. It is the tactic that they differ on, not the destination.
So Michael Moore won , this time. But that does not mean that I appreciate his views at all. For what is wrong with Michael Moore’s movie, please read our older articles on why Michael Moore is wrong!
