Racism should be punished!
Racism is something that should not be tolerated anywhere at all. The world has already learned lessons from the past. We have seen the worst in Nazi Germany or the Hutu-Tutsi rivalry. Racism also hinders progress.
It is also something that immigrant to a country suffer all over the world. Many Malaysians are not very fond of Indonesian immigrants, many Russians do not like Central Asian immigrants. Please not that I said many, not most. Majority of people in the world are oblivious or okay with immigrants.
Like the countries mentioned above, the United States also have some issues with immigrants from Mexico. Many of these immigrants are illegal. Due to poverty, many of them are involved in crime. So it is understandable for many Americans to be unhappy with them, just like citizens of other countries do not like their immigrants, so does America.
But what scares me is that in America, they are blaming everything on illegal immigrants. When a person gets knocked down by a drunk driver that is an illegal immigrant, there are people that blame illegal immigration rather than drunk driving. That is wrong.
It is the same thing with the current issue when it comes to swine flu. Mexicans do not want to have swine flu themselves. I really do not see that Mexicans are doing this willingly. Secondly majority of the diseases that come into the US comes from people that flew from Mexico after a holiday, not from crossing the border.
Do I think that the US government should go after illegal immigration? Yes? Do I think that they should have a proper border with Mexico? Yes, I think they should have one with Canada too! Terrorists can come from both sides.
But that does not mean that people should be racist with the Mexicans at all. The incident that I am going after is Jay Severin. The first racist jibe: He called Mexicans the lowest of primitives in the world. That is something that is so wrong. Try calling a Black person that and you would see Al Sharpton coming after you.
Shortly later, Mr Severin said that the biggest export of Mexico to America was: Venerable disease. Seriously, you are going to blame sexually transmitted diseases on Mexicans? Where is your proof? Because a certain percentage of the population gets it from Mexican prostitutes , or in the way he put it women with mustaches?
The next punch he said Mexicans are a bunch of leeches to America? Are you serious? Are you trying to tell me that Mexican Americans do not do anything for America? From cleaning your streets to being your bosses, Hispanic Americans are everywhere! Are they all ruining your life Jay? They have become your governors, senators and representatives. And I predict that one day you would have a Hispanic American President one day.
Last jab, he called all Mexican immigrants criminalierns, an obvious like to the word criminal and aliens. He did not say illegal immigrants from Mexico; he said criminaliens. As a minority myself, I find this utterly disrespectful and disgusting.
I am not going to be soft: I want him fired! This guy is a racist through and through. If he can do it to Mexicans today, he can do it to the Blacks and Jews the next day. I am not against free speech, but I am against hateful ones. If you can get sued for slandering a person, you should be able to lose your job for defaming a race.
This speech reminds me of the Hutu radio in Rwanda that was spreading false information. The different : One calls them the lowest form of primitives on earth that carry STDs while the other said cockroaches that carry death. Keeping this guy longer and you would risk the same out come as Rwanda did in the 90s.

You are obviously a young person, so I will keep that it mind. Your article suggests that racism is only now practiced in the US. You are dead wrong. Do some reading. Within the last few years Muslim citizens of France rioted for several days. It was not just because of hardship, it was also because of racism. Do some reading in your own history and learn what racism really is. Learn about countless numbers of black Americans who were denied opportunites and recognition because they were black. Learn about blacks who were refused housing in certain areas because they were black. Learn about cases where the presence of the United States military was required in order for children, high school, and college students to attend classes. Your broad statement about immigrants is incorrect. The bedrock of this country is the rule of law. Illegal immigrants are criminals. They have broken the law. The are not undocumented people. The US welcomes legal immigrants. Indeed, the US admits over a hundred thousand legal immigrants per month. You note that illegal aliens commit crimes due to their poverty. Is that an excuse for their behaviour? Many illegal aliens commit crimes not out of poverty but jealousy. They see an American citizen doing well or well situated and they decide to rob and in some cases rape and or kill. I want to hear from you when you or someone you care about has been a victim of illegal alien violence. Yes, illegal immigration is blamed when an illegal aliens commits a crime because had the alien not been here, there would be no crime. I would like for you to talk to the parents of the three year old child who was killed by a drunken illegal who drove his car into the ice cream parlour where the child was sitting. He then ran like the coward he is. He had been arrested several times for DUI. With swine flu, you are also wrong. No one is blaming Mexicans for having swine flu. Indeed, the US and Mexico joined forces to deal with the disease. Rather, it is a fact that people coming across the border, legally and illegally were in a position to spread swine flu. With the illegals, they are not examined before they cross the border for symptoms. It only takes one person to spread the disease. The only thing that you and I agree on is that Severin has a foul mouth. He could have made his points using acceptable language. When one does it as he did, people focus the “way you say it not what you say.” An increase in venereal disease can come when a large group of people go from one area to another. For example, when European explorers like Columbus, Cortez, and Magellan came to the New World, they brought veneral disease. Please, if you are not sure, check spelling. As I said the word is “venereal” not “venerable.” He could have said it better but illegal aliens do cost this country more than they contribute. Several hospitals have had to close because illegal aliens who used their services did not pay their bills. Each year the US bears the increasing cost of the incarceration of illegal aliens. States are paying millions to educate illegal alien children and American born children of those here illegally. Most state budgets have huge gaps because of benefits provided illegal aliens. Look at California. The US is the land of opportunity. Hispanics have become governors, senators, representives, authors, doctors, college professors, and high level military officials to name a few
positions. One day, I like you, think there will be a Hispanic president or one of another nationality. The governor of Louisiana comes to mind. I am not writing his name because I am not sure of its spelling. However, those outstanding people are not the ones we object to. We take issue with those who come or remain in our country illegally, are disrespectful of our laws, and drain our resources.

I agree with you that racism is not something that is happening now in America, it is something that is happening around the world all the time.
Black people are the definitive study of racism in America and I give that point to you too.
I do agree with you that illegal immigrants should be prosecuted. I said that in the article itself. Your reasons in the end of your comment are part of the reasons that it is a problem in America.
But I completely do not agree with your statement that if there was no illegal immigrants there would be no crime commited by them. That is the root mentality that I feel needs to be challenged.
Let me twist your example in this way. If an African or an Asian American citizen were to kill a person due to drunk driving, does that justify the white community making the argument that if there were no Asians or African Americans around, the person victim would not be dead? Would it justify me telling you to ask the parent of that individual when that African or Asian American ran away from a scene.
I lost a friend to drunk driving. His head was crushed so badly with his helmet, that his skull could not be reconstructed with the money his mother had before burial. I know what it is like to feel as I myself broke down during his funeral. But I would never say that it is because there are Chinese people on the road that this person died. Like that 3 year old kid you mentioned, the man ran away too after hitting my friend and it is all not that uncommon.
Secondly, regarding swine flu, Jay Severin did blame it on immigrants. He quoted it as being an import. And as the numbers would tell, swine flu did not come from the border at all, it came from the planes that flew from Mexico. Would illegals had spread swine flu? Could be or it may not be so?
On VD (sorry for the spelling mistake), Cortez and Mangellan did not bring VD, they brought foreign diseases which the locals had no immunization to. There is a difference. VD is the old name for STD. STD is passed from unprotected sex and less so in other ways like sharing drug needles. And I really cannot see why Mexicans (what Severin said, not illegal immigrants in this case) should take the blame for something that comes out of consensual sex. Majority of VD comes within US, from people that visit brothels and practice unsafe sex. Sure there are sex hot-spots in countries like Mexico and Thailand that brings back VD, but the locals there get it from Americans and other foreigners too.

Severin crossed the line. He made racist comments with regards to material from this article. It is now coming to light of all the things he has said before. He is also now in trouble with Al Sharpton and company for calling African American population a “b****** factory” due to his perception of high single parent-hood there. He has a character flaw.
As I said, it is this kind of people that could lead to the “cutting of the tall trees.” It is his kind of hate speech that can breed anger against Hispanics the same way Hitler did against the Jews. That is the reason why I feel strongly about him being fired.
Either you have twisted my words or I did not make myself clear. I did not say that if illegal aliens were not around there would be no crime. What I was saying is that if the illegal alien who committed the crime were not around, THAT crime would not have been committed. An alien committing a crime is not an indictment of every legal or illegal alien in the country. However, it is a fact that crime nationwide has gone up because of illegal aliens. Look at the statistics. Furthermore, there are other negative affects of the presence of illegal aliens as I noted in my original answer. Also, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt since you misunderstood me at one point. Are you saying that because it is “not uncommon” for aliens who commit vehicular homicide under the influence of alcohol to run from the scene of the crime, that somehow lessens how reprehensible their act is? Unfortunately rape, domestic abuse, murder to name a few crimes are common in this country. That in no way makes them less serious. In addition, while I have you on the line, I would like to make another comment about Mr. Severin. What he should have said is that there are people coming in from Mexico who bring in the virus. However, that includes Americans who have visited Mexico; people from other countries who came to the US after having visited Mexico for example Chinese. It does however include illegal aliens, legal aliens, Mexican-American citizens who have visited Mexico. It has been established that the first swine flu case was a little Mexican boy. In calling the swine flue an import, I think he was taking a swipe at the leadership in this country which is allowing the disease to be brought in because it refuses to close the points of entry, both legal and illegal. That should be done until the disease is under control. This country has over two thousand cases now. Finally, I would like to touch on the venereal disease issue again. In addition to my aforementioned statements, I would like to point out that numerous young foreign national women, not just Mexicans, are seduced, tricked, and kidnapped into prostitution by pimps and gangsters. Some of their experiences are sadly unbelievable. They speak of having to “service” numerous men daily. Of course they have venereal disease and God knows what else. Fortunately, some of the brothels have been raided and the young women escape. But in some cases,out of fear ignorance they go back to prostitution because it is all they know living in a strange land. As with drugs, if there were no market for the product, it would not exist. I am sure there is a darker side where some people willingly cross the border to engage in the “oldest profession in the world.” But as I note here and did in my original answer, there are many reasons for it. It cannot simply be attributed to the fact that the woman is a foreign national. It is a complex matter. Hence it is clear that Mr. Severin’s mental faculties fail him again.
In re-reading yur response, I realize there is a portion I apparently did not read. I stand by my statemenbt about the European explorers. They brought other diseases but they also brought venereal diseases. Transportation was not as speedy back then as it is today. Those men were on ships together for numerous months. There were no women about. Sexual release came from the use of compliant or compelled individuals if you get my drift. Later, as white man attempted to fulfill his “Manifest Destiny” of having the US stretch from coast to coast, he took venereal disease to other indigenous populations. The only STD that is transmitted by sharing needles is HIV. If you re-read my statement,you will see that I said there would one day I think there will be a Hispanic president or one of another nationality. My reference to Bobby Jindal was as a posssible president of another nationality not an indication that I thought he was Hispanic.
