What in the blue hell is wrong with America? We have four of the nation’s police officers shot down in cold blood by a mentally sick man who thinks he is Jesus and that he was fighting a holy war; and we have the Democrats attacking Governor Mike Huckabee for commuting his sentence.

Come on! When is the political bickering going to end? When all the Republicans shoot the Democrats or vice versa? OR should the Independents start a missionary like movement to convert Republicans and Democrats to what they are supposed to be : American!

Firstly, if former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee really did commit the mistake of signing this person’s release, is it really a crime? Is he really the person to blame for the death of the police officers? No! Before a commutation, there are a lot of levels of recommendations. They always say that it is a (female dog) to get a parole from the parole board. At worst, it is just a mistake.

However, I do not think he made the mistake at all! I think that Governor Huckabee is right that this guy should not be in jail; he should be in a freaking mental institution. Look at his record. He thinks he can freaking fly!. He thinks that he is Jesus. He told his relatives that it is a must to be naked for five minutes on Sunday! How much more evidence do people need that this man is insane.

I also would like to an example out of this incident to be made out for the families. His family knew that he is insane. They knew that he had a criminal past. Why didn’t they call in help before. I think they are more at fault for the death of the four brave police officers than Governor Mike Huckabee ever was!

We need to let people get the message that if you think that your peer or family member is crazy, it is better to make a false report than to let a mental person be without help. Had that have happened, neither this incident, nor the Fort Hood massacare would have taken place.

Judging by the reactions on the Internet, I think that those African Americans that are speaking anything but horror about this incidents, should be ashamed of themselves. Being Asian American, I know how it feel when it comes to racism. Are police apprehensive when it comes to Black people, yes.

But this is a tragedy, anyway we see it. This is not a payback for any policy of the Police. The main objective of the Police is not to harm and target, it is to serve and to protect. The Police is not the Al Qaeda, that is out to kill Americans.

When is it that we are going to be sane and look at a problem with sense in America? This is another great example. Rather than talking about gun control and mental health issues we are arguing about whether Governor Mike Huckabee is guilty and whether the police department deserves it! We need to get these people in check!

Lastly, can anybody tell me why is it that the Police are holding up the siege of this person in the house? Aren’t they supposed to be better in Urban Operations as compared to the soldiers? Can’t they gas him out or something like that? This is not a suggestion, I really would want to know from the public why the police is taking their time to get this murderous insane human being.

We at Slasing Tongue would like to send our condolences to the families of the victims and their brother officers. ST would also like to salute Sgt. Mark Renninger; Officer Ronald Owens; Officer Tina Griswold; and Officer Greg Richards, 42 for serving our country.

After our attack on Frank Gaffney a couple of months ago, a similar kind of rubbish has reappeared once again on FOX News. I think it is something that is meant to influence people’s mentality and I am shocked that there is muted rebuttal to the statements made by Reuel Marc Gerecht.

Before I start off, I would like to stress again my belief that there is problem within Islam. Muslims in the world are not taken aback by what is happening in the name of their religion and they think it is some kind of external, international conspiracy against their religion.

Pakistan today has a perfect example. Hundreds of Pakistanis die due to bomb blasts that the Taliban take responsibility for, but they still think that India and Israel are behind them. They are against the terror attacks, but blames RAW and Mossad (Indian and Israeli intelligence).

That paradigm, in my opinion is right, and I think that Muslim communities around the world must stop thinking that the world, or even the West, is against Islam. I think that until the Muslim world realize that, there is not going to be hope of thawing the frosty relationship that is shared between them today.

That being said, what was said by Gerecht is absolutely rubbish. His stand was not as terrible as the one Frank Gaffney had, but there are parts which does insinuate danger. First I would like to state that I agree with Gerecht that there is a threat internally. However, I do not think it is out of control and is that dangerous yet. It is not organized, basically some street punks that have been radicalized. To be fair, he said he didn’t know.

“(We are) taking a little bit too lightly the danger of Islamic militant propaganda in the United States; the extent to which mosques in the United States can reinforce those attitudes, so it is something that requires a lot more effort I think on the part of the bureau.”

We are not taking it lightly, Mr Gerecht. We know that there is a threat. We know that there are mosques in the US do reinforce those attitude. We would support you if you want to do intelligence work on mosques, which is something that is being done.

However, would you do the same for Churches? There are some crazy churches that believe in America being punished for tolerating homosexuality and abortion. There are also cases where Church pastors who encourage discrimination to gays and even, in extreme cases, incite violence. E.g. Pastor Anderson?

Do you think we would have an open door policy with all? I do not think so. I say, get them all! Flag before religion! I say if we penetrate into one, lets penetrate all communities that pose a harm to our citizens or our country.

“Its very difficult for the FBI which is an Intelligence Agency par excellence to actually pursue leads before crimes are committed. In Intelligence, you have to make certain assumptions, they are not nice assumptions that certain individuals may be guilty even though they haven’t committed the crime. You have to engage in surveillance before the crime is committed.”

Wow! Where in the world has this guy been living? Guantanamo Bay? The FBI always pursue leads before crimes are being committed. ALWAYS! They always are in search of things like new drug routes, potential child sex offenders and so on. It is one thing to assume, it is another to discriminate.

Secondly, what in the world is this guy thinking? Is he going to say that we do to the Muslims today what we did to the Japanese in World War 2? He asks for surveillance, I tell you we have surveillance. How do you think the FBI are catching these suspected terrorists? By guessing? Of course they have infiltrated the Muslim community.

A word has to be said about the terrible hosts at FOX. When people say something as controversial as this, you correct them. In this case, the host Paul Gigot himself can make the assertion that the barbarism of Fort Hood as an act of terrorism. Who said so Paul? Where did you get the facts from? Come on!

That being said, I have a certain amount of respect Paul Gigot. And to be fair, Reuel Marc Gerecht is no Frank Gaffmey.

$60 billion. That is a drop in the bucket as compared to the $10 trillion we have. Yet the doom of Dubai, seemed to have echoed around that world and got the markets panicking. What we can tell you is that we have not learned our lessons yet and this demonstrates the power house economy that US really is.

$60 billion. That is more than you and I would ever make in our lifetimes. But as a corporation, it really is not that much. Microsoft is worth more than $200 billion, Apple are Google, each, are worth more than $150 billion; so how is it that a city state that owes the world $60 billion could shake the world like it did?

The answer : silly risk taking. What caused creditors to be so afraid was that lots of the debts that we see today would be increased many times over due to the manipulation of risk. Let me give you a very much simplified example.

Lets say Company A had some formula to turn water to Gold. Company A goes to Bank A to get a loan, and Bank A approved a loan of $10 million. Bank B does not believe that Company A’s plan. So it does something called a Credit Default Swap. They would give Bank A the money for the loan. Should Company A default on her payments to Bank A, Bank A would pay Bank B $100 million.

The example that I gave above is what I call a 10:1 (100 million to 10 million) bet scenario. There are other examples in real life with methods ranging from short selling to derivatives which have a 30 : 1 bet ratio. Now that is what the EU terms as casino banking.

The same thing happened with Dubai. Should Dubai not be able to pay her debts off, the amount lost by her creditors would not be $60 billion, but in the trillions. That is what the entire pandemonium and panic is all about.

When are we going to learn our lessons? Why can’t we go back to the tried and tested system of a bank putting in capital should they believe in the business plan that they receive. Why must there be what I call sucker capitalism? When are we going to end such practices? Would the next attack be too late to save America? America and the world must wake up to this problem or we would face lots of problems in the future.

Dubai goes $60 billion in the red, and the world panics. Does anybody realize that the world is not that bothered with the trillions of dollars worth of debt when it came to the debt of countries like US, Japan and the UK? This is because the world, as of today, is still very confident in these economies.

I really hope that Dubai bring back the attention of bad banking, as what the economic crash did. It is essential that we get this back in order…

Happy thanksgiving to all our readers. While we are always complaining and highlighting what is wrong in America and her political sphere, we would like to take this opportunity to give our thanks to what is pleasant and great about America.

10)Thanks for the effort of our troops. Whether we agree or disagree with the mission that our troops are sent to, we appreciate the fact that there are still people who would take the bullet for this country. They are the ones putting their lives on the line while we debate…

9)Thanks for CSPAN. Go anywhere around the world; you would not get a channel as good as CSPAN. No other parliament sessions have channel that is unbiased and, more importantly, as raw as CSPAN is. The best source for political news in America; thank you for a service very less appreciated.

8)Thank you readers. Thank you for reading this content, we hope to get more by the next thanksgiving, but we appreciate what we have. We would not be running without your help and your support. We hope that you carry on reading our material and please just sound off what you think.

7)Thanks for state rights! The tenth amendment is something that we always ignore. It is something that is a cornerstone of our life, but is usually overlooked. A Californian would not want to have Texas‘ terrible health care system, while a Texan does not want a bankrupt state like California.

6)Thanks for free speech. This is something that is often taken for granted till it is taken away. The reason that our country has made so much success is that we have the right to dissent. Take away freedom of speech and we would lose all other forms of freedom as well.

5)Thanks for the economic growth, finally. I really hope that this would drag the unemployment numbers down. It is still nice to know that we are one quarter away from leaving this recession. Lets hope that we learn our lessons.

4)Thanks to our health-care providers. They put their lives on the line for work that is often unappreciated. Thank you researchers, who carry on finding cures for diseases. Thank you nurses and doctors who care for us when we are sick. This is especially so in times where a strain of flu can kill us.

3)Thanks for our safety. Thank you policemen, prison officers and firemen, our everyday heroes. Thank you CIA, FBI and other agencies who work night and day trying to keep us sane, heroes that we do not see everyday.

2)Thanks for Independents. We keep politics sane in America. There are just too many wing-nuts in both parties. You guys are the real Americans, Americans who live and believe in America, not an ideological Democratland or Republicanistan.

1)Thank for the American spirit. The resolve that keeps this country running great, despite troubled times. The call to help those who lost their jobs, homes or health care due to something that they did not cause. After all, it is this spirit that truly defines America, even Indian Prime Minister acknowledges it.

Happy thanksgiving everybody and happy holidays.

We have not talked about health care for a while on this site. But this I cannot ignore. We have said it for a long time and this time I am being echoed by Governor (Dr.) Howard Dean months later : No public option; Kill the Bill!

In a segment with the ever so boring Dylan Ratigan, Governor Howard Dean basically threatened to stop sending in money to the respective Democratic committees in Congress if they do not have a bill in it that has a public option.

Looking back, we know that not nominating him is the biggest mistake that the Democrats ever made. They overlooked a governor that is a proven success and a person that is well informed in 2004, and they picked a long-jaw douche-bag named Senator John Kerry. So not only are the politicians pathetic, their far left voting base in the primaries are pathetic too.

Coming back to health care, I stress that this is the most important part of health care reform : the public option. The biggest problem with the health care cost in our country is cost. That should be the primary objective. And yet, our politicians came up with just one solution to curb costs : public option. (For Republican readers, I would explain in paragraphs below why their idea of buying across state lines would not work.)

Without the public option, there would be a mandate for the public to have health insurance to drive up demand and there is no other counter measure to keep the cost down. Therefore, we are literally throwing our money to the insurance companies with the Bill.

With the public option, there would be pressure to keep the price of the insurance down. If the insurance companies charge us too much, people would switch their plans to the public option which is non profit. It is not very difficult to understand the public option actually.

The Republican proposal of allowing customers to buy across state lines would not work. For it to work, there need to be national rules and guidelines. For example, in football, the rules in Saint Louis is the same as that in Dallas. If you cannot spit at the referee in Dallas, you cannot do it anywhere else.
The rules need to be the same, else you would have all the companies flocking to the state with the lowest amount of regulation. That is the case for the Credit Card companies.

So why can’t there be a national rule: The tenth amendment which guarantees states rights. With that, the federal government cannot force local governments to conform with other states on these issues. Even if our politicians want it, it would be very tricky. I also do not want it to go down that path as I think states rights are very important in our country.

A way around the Republican proposal is the idea that we in ST put up months ago. Allow the foreigners to flood the market. If the Japanese can make cars here, they can also sell their insurance, which is much more cheaper than ours, here. If Indian companies can create for us computer programs, they should also sell their insurances over here. Then let the competition begin!

Though, I hate it when politicians make threats when they can, in this case I am with Governor Dean. The Democrats should not receive any party donations if they cannot fulfill what the people want. A health care bill without the public option would wreck our country and make our lives much tougher than it already is.
